Wow, All That!
Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything here. I’ve gotten so used to texting updates to FaceBook via Twitter on my phone. Ah, it’s 2010! Writing a blog entry almost feels like writing a snail mail letter instead of sending an email. But snail mail is good, and so are good old fashioned blogs
We put our house on the market in March and sold it for our asking price in 28 days. Praise God! The house we wanted to buy was a short sale, and we had made an offer on it but never heard back from the bank. So we needed a place to live in the meantime, and we ended up renting a house in Ventana Ranch (NW Albuquerque) from a coworker of mine. It has been perfect for us! The neighbors on both sides of us have young kids, and all the kids literally climb over the 4 foot wall to play with each other. They’ve started using the front doors some too :) The kids have absolutely loved it, and it’s been a fun summer living in the burgs.
The house we wanted ended up going through foreclosure and finally came back on the market a month and a half ago. We made an offer on the first day possible, and it was accepted. Since then we’ve been working through one issue after another to be able to buy the home and are probably around 2 weeks away from closing on it at this point. Woo hoo! I’ve heard that the show “House Hunters” gives a realistic idea of what it’s like to buy a foreclosed home - no fun and drawn out and complicated. But we’re getting a great deal on it in a great neighborhood near a huge park, and we’re excited about being in our own home again and being able to unpack all the boxes that have been in storage and our garage since the spring.
Here’s a recent photo of my whole family here in Albuquerque. We went to Portrait Innovations, and they did a great job and gave us a CD with low res photos that we can post or use however we want. So here’s the whole litter - 7 grandkids in 7 years and another niece on the way.
